The jackets for kilt suits varied. Some covered the entire chect and buttoned at the collar, sometimes with double breasted style. Others boys wore jackets looking much like modern single breasted jackets with a "V" front center cut. Other jackets were made without the "V" cut of modern jackets. These single jackets were often worn with vests. The vests might have extremely large numbers of buttons. I'm not sure at this time how common the vests were or the different button arrangements.
HBC does not yet have sufficient information to assess the chronology of vests worn with kilt suits.
Different styles of kilt suit jackets jackets were worn with kilt suits. Some boys wore jackets looking much like modern single breasted jackets with lapels a "V" front center cut. Other jackets were made without lapels and the "V" cut of modern jackets. These single jackets were often worn with vests.
The jackets without lapels came in many different styles. Some had jackets falling straight down from the collar. Others fell at closing or ioopening angles.
Jackets with lapels were also worn with kilt suits. Some of these jackets look like modern single breasted jackets. One of the differences is that the lapel jackets worn with kiltsuits were often cut to expose the jacket or blouse worn underneath.
The vests worn with kilt suits were highly varied. The vests might have extremely large numbers of buttons. I'm not sure at this time how common the vests were or the different button arrangements.
I am not yet sure how popular the vests were and how commonly they were with kilt suits.
