We note a few instances of tunic suits styled like a cut-away jacket. We have found very many examples, but there are a few. A German reader has sent us a an example. She writes, "Here is a mock cut-away styled tunic. And what I know is that vertical elements were very fashionable in the 1880s. You see this also in women's and girl's clothing. I have many pictures with vertical variations."
