We still see detachable Eton collars, although they were no longer a major item as they had been earlier. We do see mostly see large collars, but they were not all detachable collars. The pointed Eton collars appear to have been the most common, but we begin to see some rounded Peter Pan collars as well. A good example is an Ohio boy wearing a classic Eton collar with an Eton suit, we believe in the 1930s, but it could be the 40s. Notice that he is wearing a stiff, large detachable collar. Not all the the large collars were detachable collars. We note the Starrett twins in 1935. They have large Eton collars which look to us like they are attached blouses (figure 1). It is, however, a little difficult to tell. The boys are twins who look to be about 8-9 years old.
