Pioneer Suspender Company: Adult Suspenders

Figure 1.--This Pioneer Suspenders advert from the early-1920s shows the company's suspenders for adult men. The Pioneer Junior aimed at being a boy's version of men's adult suspenders.

The company made Pioneer Suspenders and Belts for men and Brighton Garters for men. We also notice advertisements for these products. Before World War I men mostly wore suspenders. Gradually after the War we begin to see more men and boys wearing boys wearing belys, but suspenders were still very common. This Pioneer Suspenders advert from the early-1920s shows the company's suspenders for adult men (figure 1). The Pioneer Junior aimed at being a boy's version of men's adult suspenders.
