David Holt: Clothing

Figure 1.--- We notice David Holt weaing a white beret with a white suit in this 1934 studio publicity shot. He would have been about 7 years old. Berets especially white berets were considered very fashionable for younger boys.

We have only a few images of David Holt to assess the clothing he wore. His mother seems to have dressed him very smartly or at least he was smarly dressed in the studio publicity shots that we have seen. We see him wearing shorts sets. The one here looks to be white or perhaps a cream color and done with button-on shoers with a self belt. These shorts sets were popular for American boys in the 1930s and 40s. The shorts set is worn with stripped ankle socks. Other imges show him wearing sailor suits. We also notice him weaing a white beret with a white suit. Berets especially white berets were considered very fashionable for younger boys.
