Many of the other outfits are more open to question. In "Finding Neverland" the boys seem to wear jackets rather than smocks. The costuming differs somewhat by age. The younger brother here wears a kind of junior suit. We also notice the same suit done in grey. We are not sure what this style was called, but we have noted the term junior suit. Mostly the boys seem to weak Norfolk suits. There were both cream and grey colored suits. More than color is involved here. They were made in different materials designed for seasonal wear. A reader writes, "It may be that the boy is wearing an overcoat although it is fairly short, certainly I wore one with my short trouser suit in the 1940/50s if the weather was cool on park outings." HBC is fairly certain that he is wearing one of those junior suits that buttoned at the collar rather than having lapels. They were qyite common at the time. That said, we note in looking at the image that the jacket/coat does not match the knockers. I still think that he is probably wearing a suit jacket, but our reader's point is interesting and worth noteing. "The boys hd some comfortable looking outfits for play, even smocks. Many of the play sccenes , however, showthem in Norfolk suits with Eton collars. It's noteworthy that when attending a dinner party in one scene the boys are dressed in suits as formally and uncomfortably as the adults."
