Women to Women (England, 1923)

Women to Women
Figure 1.-- The British silent film "Woman to Woman" starred Betty Compson and Clive Brook. I'm not sure ho the child actor was. He wears a blouse, short velvet trousers, strap shoes and white socks. His hair lookscto be Dutch boy bob. I know nothing about the plot of the film. Obtaining information on silent films is difficult. It looks to be what a British reader describes as a woman's weepy.

The British silent film "Woman to Woman" starred Betty Compson and Clive Brook. The boy character in the film was Davy. He was played by a British child actor named Peter Myrtle. Peter was born in 1912 and thus was 10-11 years old here. He lived in Golders Green London. His only film appearance was the film here, "Woman to Woman". He wears a blouse, short velvet trousers, strap shoes and white socks. His hair looks to be Dutch boy bob. The plot of the film is that a British aristocrat falls in love with an actress. They are engaged to be married. There is a love child. Of course that is Davy. Unfortunately World War I intervenes and the aristocrat goes to fight. In a battle he is wounded and loses his memory. After the war he begins a new life and marries. There is a chance meeting with his former fiancé. His wife agrees to adapt the child. Obtaining information on silent films is difficult. The film looks to be what a British reader describes as a woman's weepy. I believe that Alfred Hitchcock wrote the film's scenario. but am not sure.
