Although rarely done today, "Little Lord Fauntleroy" was once a popular production for local theater. This was particularly true in the early 20thbcentury. As in professional productions,the part of Cedric was often given to a girl with the suitable long hair and ringlet curls. The image here shows a production of "Little Lord Fauntleroy" (figure 1). We know nothing about the production except that it was produced in 1926. It look like a girl is cast for Cedric. Note Dick to the right, identifiable because of his shoeshine box. . His long stockings have holes cut in them to emphasize his poverty.
