Goddard White was photographed in the A. Marshall Boston Massaccusetts studio in March, 1897. He was 8 year, 9 months old. He wears a classic summer light-colored sailor suit,
probably light blue. The detailing is the classic three strip style. There is some unsual matching detailing on the dicky. The suit was a kneepants sailor suit with which he wears dark stockings. They are the dressy kind that fit well, not the baggy ones foe winter wear. He also wears what look like patent leather strap shoes which would have been reserved for very special occassions. Goddard is pictured with his violon.
Perhaps he was about to play in a reciatal. Note his center part hair style.
