21st Century Children in History: Makiyah Wilson (United States, 2018)

Figure 1.-- Makiyah Wilson was a beautiful little 10-year-old girl living in Northeast Washington, D.C. About 15 to 20 people were out enjoying the summer weather. Makiyahn like any other American kidcduring the summer was on her way to get ice cream from a nearby ice cream truck. Then suddenly a group of four masked African-American teens jumped out of a black, four-door Infiniti sedan and began shooing (July 16, 2018). A surveilance video shows a car pulling up and four men in hoodies suddenly jumping out and opening fire before getting back in the vehicle and fleeing. Multiple people were hit, inluding Makiyah. Makiyah used her last breath to calm her mother down, who held her in her final moments. ‘Mommy, calm down’ she at first told her mother. Her last words were “Mommy, it’s burning.” The victims were transported to local hospitals. Makiyah was declared dead after all life-saving efforts failed.

Four other people, including the girl's 18-year-old sister were wounded. It is unclear who the intended victims were. What is notavkle when e see tragedies like this is how little attention the media and the Black Lives Matters movemehnt gives to it. Only when a white poice officer is involved does the media and BLM come to life. There were about 13,000 murder victims in America (2010). About half of those viuctims were African-Americans. [FBI] That is an extrodinarily figure give that the African-American population is only 13 percemt of the American population. It certainly means that a group like BLM is sorely needed. But notice that BLM just ignores the vast majority of those vicims. The only victims of any interest to BKM is the tiny percentage of blaclks kilked by the police, especislly white police officers. There were 258 African-Americans killed by police in 2015. That is a minicule 4 percent of black murders and almost all of the police shooting were totally legitimate law eforcemet actions.
