Children in History: The 21st Century

Malala
Figure 1.--Malala was a brave little Muslim school girl living in Mingora. She spoke out against the Taliban in Afghanistan trying to stop girls from attending school. Mala gained international recognition when 11-years old and began writing a dairy describing Tailiban attrocities in Afghanistan. The subject is poorly covered in the Palistani media, but using the internet Malala carefully documented the barbarity of the Tailiban, all done in the name of Islam. She wrote under aen name for the BBC's Irdu service. To punish her for soeaking tge truth, a cowardly Tailaban ggunman boarded her school bus, asked for her by name, a shot her in the head. Malala is now fighting for her life.

The 20th century was a time where increasing efforts to protect children rights, passing child labor laws and expanding public education. Some children emerged as notable participants in history, but in the 21st century children have exploded on the world scene as both targets of terrorism and perpetrators of terrorism. And for the first time in history, many of these children are Muslim. And contrary to the widely held opinion in the Muslim world, the perpetrators of violence aginst Muslim children are primarily other Muslims. The culture of death preached by Islamicists is now redounding in the death of Muslim children. Muslims may rail against the Jews and the West, but it is primarilyb other Muslims that have blood on their hands.

Alex Scott (United States, 1996- )

Alex Scott is afflicted by malignant brain tumors. Unlike most children was have waged brave personal battles with cancer, Alex decided she was going to do something about it. She opened a lemonade stand. Only Alex is working toward earing $1 million for cancer research and there is every indication that she may well do just that. Alex's mother reports that she is very determined little girl. Alex opened her forst lemonade stand when she was 4 yeats old. There are now Alex's Lemonade Stands in every state of the Union. Alex suffers from a rare form of cancer, Neuroblastoma. About 700 children in America suffer from this condition.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab (Nigeria, 1986?- )

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was a young Nigeria man who graduated from a London university and attempted to blow up an American Northwestern Airliner on Chridstmas Day as it was landing in Detroit, Michigan. One of the many people shocked by this event was a British teacher who taught him at an international school in Togo. Apparently his wealthy Nigerian father sent him to school in Togo because of all the turmoil and disorder in Nigeria. his is a good example of the falicy among many liberal Americans that the problem of Islamic terrorism is an economic problem developing from poverty. There is a general reluctance in the West to look at these acts of violence steming from Koranic and other Islamic teaching.

London Samaritan Attackers (United Kingdom, August 2011)

The world was stunned when young people in London rioted (August 2001). Unlike other instances of such violence, thec London rioters were not minorities rioting against oppresive conditions and poverty. They were young people brought up by a welfare state in which the basic necesitiues were guaranted by the state. The basic complaint of the rioters seems to have been that the government was not giving them enough and therefore they had the right to take what they wanted from 'the rich people'which basically meant hard working shop owners--in many cases small shop keepers with immigrant backgrounds. If this was not bad enough, Britions were outraged when the acts of two young men posing as 'good sanaritans' duriung the unrest. They were caught on an amateur video attacking an injured Malaysian student--Mohammed Asyraf Haziq Rossli (21 years old). Rossli was injured and dazed as a result of an attack by Beau Isagba (17 years old) who attacked Rossli, hiting him in the fce and breaking his jaw. He then stole his bicycle. It is then that the samaritans enter the picture. John Kafunda (22 years old) pretending to assist the injured and stunned Rossll to a safer spot in the midst of the rioting. While he did so, his accomplice, Reece Donovan (24 years old), rifled through Rossli's backpack and stole a portable Playstation and 10 games. An outraged Prime Minister David Cameron described the incident as an indication of social malaise. Now in the scheme of things, a broken jaw and the theft of a Playstation and games isa rather minor incident, but it speaks volumes about the welfare states established in Western Europe since World War II. Welfare states that are now destintegrarting as the countries are going bankrupt trying to support them.

Myriam Monsenego (France, 2004?-12)

Myriam Monsenego was a beautiful little Jewish girl murdered by Islamic terrorist Mohammed Merah. Myriam had an all to short life and deserves to be remembered as a pure inocence in the hands of unspeakable evil--evil motivated by Islamic teaching. You can say that Merah's Islamic beliefs were a misunderstanding or perversion of Islamic teachings, but there is no doubt he was schooled in Islam and motivated by his Islamic faith. And there is also no doubt that he was convinced that his unspeakable actions would inspire other Muslims. One can say that he was crazed or wring about this and most voices in the Western media will take this line of thought. But of course Merah knew the Islamic world much better than the Western media pontification on his murder spree, many of whom are more worried about protecting Muslims from revenge cts than defending children like Myriam. Let us be clear here, we are not suggesting that the great proportion of Muslims are evil people. They are not. We are suggesting that terrifying numbers of Muslims (based on public opinion polls of Muslims) either support terrorism or show a degree of sympathy for terrorists. And this is something Western political leaders like President Sarkozy or President Obama refuse to speak out about.

Malala Yousafzai (Pakistan, 1998?- )

Malala was a brave little Muslim school girl living in Mingora. She used a pen name, because it Pakistan it is dangerous to speak openly about such maters. Malala was a symbol of hope of hope in Pakistan. She also promoted literacy and peace. The Pakistani Government awarded her the Natuonal Peace Prize (2011). Mala was a finalist in the International Children's Peace Prize sponsored by a DutchbGroup. They were impressed by Malala's courage in speaking out foe girls' education when few adults did out of fear of growing fundamentalist rhetoric and threats. Muingora is a city in scenic northwestern Swat valley adjoining the turbulent tribal belt. Malala knew what she was talking about because Tailban insurgents seized control of the area and imposed harsh Sharia Law (2007). The Pakistani Army mounted a major military operation and drove out the Tailiban (May 2009). The Army began promoting Swat as a tourist attraction. It spomnsored a festival presenting Swat as the Switzerland of Palistan (July 2012). A Taliban loyalist boarded Malala's school bus, asked for her by name, aided apistol at her head, and shot Malala in front of terrifued school mates. Malalaas at the time a 14-year old 9th frader. The brazen, cowardky attack resulted in no great response from the Pakisrani people. The same people who constantly say Islam is a religion of peace and tolerance riot over a video, but tolerate attacks on little girls who dare to speak the truth. The Army flew Malala to a military hospital in Peshawar where she is fighting for her life.

Nigerian School Children

For years the Arab Government of Sudan used slavery as a way of supressing the African Chrisian insurrection in the South. This tactic is being picked up by more Muslim groups in the Middle East and North Africa. This is essentially Islam reserecting the African slave trade which existen in the Muslim world for more than a millenium. There never was an Islamic abolitionist movement. Slavery was ended in the Muslim World only after a century-long campaign begun by the Royal Navy and pressure exerted after World war II. It was never totally ended and is now coming back, most prominently in the Sahel and Levnt and Mesopotamia. The rise of groups like ISIS and Boko Haram. There opertion often include killing Christian men. Boys are both killed and sold into slavery. We see the severed heads of boys and men on spikes displayed for all to see. Girls are kidnapped and sold into slavery. One of the most notorius such incidents was conducted by Boko Haram. These self-proclaimed Islamists have launched a scorched-earth campaign in northern Nigeria. Their abduction of 200 schoolgirls from Chibok im 2014 captured the world's attention. It was, however, just a sensational example of what has been going on at a lower level for some time. Actually abduction puts a kindly glaze on wha=t has happened to the girls. In fact they were the target of an old-fashion slave raid. Theu have been enslaved for their captor's pressure or sold as slaves. When raidinging a village, the men ir killed. The women and children or booty of war which can e sold for a profit. These are not attacks. As one journalist explains, "The word 'raid' is important, for Boko Haram does not merely 'attack' villages or 'take' towns: its fighters are engaged in the primeval business of slave raiding. We might not like to think that the slave trade has re-emerged across a swathe of Africa, nor that villages are falling prey to marauders who hunt down women and children, but that is the painful truth." [Blair] And Boko Haram makes no effort to hide what they are doing. They are shockingly open about what they are doing. The movement's Emir, Abubakar Shekau, openly promised to sell the Chibok schoolgirls into slavery in a Youtube video. . "Allah instructed me to sell them: they are his properties. I will sell them in the market by Allah."

Pakistani School Children

Tge Pakistni Government backed bu public opinion for years has been promoting Islamic insurgent groupsfocused on first Khasmir and then Pakistan. The Pakistan Intelligence Services were at the hear of this, but they help Islamicist groups like the Taliban grow and spread. Madrassa throughout the country have been teaching young people that they have the right to kill Christians and Jews in the name of Islam. This was done in part to promote foreign policy and security goals. But it has taken on a life of itself in Pakistan's highly charged religious society. As is often the case, it was Muslims that became the primary victim of the cilture of violence and death created by Islamists. For a long tome the Islamicists focused oin the inteligence seevives. But this is was changing. Malala Yousafzai, 13-year old school girl, was shot in the head for standing up to them. Many Pakistanis were outraged, but a surprising number were not--accepting the excuse that it was done in the name of Allah. The ineviable followed, an attack on a school. Many in the Muslim world did not object when the attacks were on Jewish schools and children. But inveitablt the Islamists have nw begun attackng not inly Muslim school children, but a whole school. Malala was accused of being a CIA spy. We shall see now how an attack on a whole school can be justified. the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) conducted a terrorist attack on the Army Public School in the Pakistani city of Peshawar (December 16, 2014). Seven Taliban gunmen entered a defenless school and without explnation opened fire on the teachers and students. They murdered 145 people (including 132 schoolchildren, 8-16 years of age). The Pakistani Army's Special Services Group (SSG) special forces responded, killing seven terrorists and rescuing 960 children and sraff. Chief military spokesman Major General Asim Bajwa reportd that in addition to thoe killd, 130 victims were injured. This now stands as the deadliest terrorist attack in Pakistani history. The death toll exceeds the deadly 2007 Karachi bombing. Some have likened the attack to the Beslan school hostage crisis that occurred in the North Ossetia/Alania region of the Russian Federation (2004).

ISIS Child Executioner: Abdulah

We have noted many child victims of the Islamicists. The new year brought a nother first in Islamic evil--the child executioiner. ISIS issued another 'execution video' (January 13, 2015). It purports to show a 10-year-old boy shooting dead two nealing individuals identified as 'Russian spies'. The video was released through ISIS official propaganda outlet al-Hayat Media. ISIS claims that the men were recruited by "Russian intelligence'. They have been forced to their knees and the boys approaches from the rear with an automatic postol. The previous day, ISIS released another video showing a young teen ager about 14 years old executing a suicide bombing ahainst Sh'ia in the Iraqi province of Salahuddin. Some experts say that this apparent use of a child as executioner represents 'a departure from past norms' in Islamicist propaganda. The video of the boy shooting the two men has captions in Arabic and English. ISIS claims the two men are 'FSB agents' who were offered money to 'gather information about fighters and send the information to Russia'. First the video shows the two men 'confesung'. Then the video shows the two men on their knees in the desert with a militant and a young boy who looks to be about 10 years old standing behind them. The militant announces that the men are now 'in the custody of the lion cubs of the caliphate'. The child then steps forward and appears to shoot both men. This samed boy has appeared in earlier ISIS videos. The boy's name is apparently Abdulah. He belongs to a large family that came from Khasiskstan

Islamaphopbia Poster Teen: Yasmin Seweid (United States, 2016)

Left-wing politicians like New York Mayor Bill de Blasio after Donald Trump entered the Presidential campaign began talking about a spike in hate crimes. He ignored the spike in black on black killings caused by Black Lives matters, but was enraged about the reports of hate crimes. The problem with this of course is that many of these reports were false. The poster child for these false reports was Long Island teenager Yasmin Seweid, an 18-year old Muslim college student. She reported being attacked by white men yelling Trump slogans, calling her a terrotist, and trying to rip off her hijab on de Blasio's New York City subway (December 1, 2016). And what's more the people on the subway who saw it refused to intervene in any way. This was a total inditement of Trump supporters, Christians, white people, and New York City residents. Of course with this cast of characters, the mainline media ran with the story. Brian Williams apparently saw jumping on the PC band waggon as a way of reviving his tattered jornalistic reputation. Left wing news spurces ran the story and with out the 'alledgely' they insist be attached to any reports of minorities being charges with crimes. One honest journalist, Pamela Geller, dared to raise doubts about Seweid's story. "There is no video, no audio, no proof. Just her claims. Proof? Who needs proof? Muslims know that their claims of 'Islamophobia' run without challenge or investigation. It was, of course, front-page news in America and across the world. Dead victims of jihad terror don't get this kind of press." Seweid's story proved to be a complete fabrication. It never occurred, none of it. The New York Police Department has charged Seweid with filing a false police report. But the story does not stop there. The mainline media does not run with the full story like the way they did with Seweid's false charges. Sewiid's motives were not political--they were religious and family related. Her devout Muslim Egyptian immigrant parents were outraged to find that she was dating a Catholic boy. And to punish her they shaved her head which became known when she showed up in court. Little of this of course gets reported in the mainline media because it does not conform to the narative they want to promote of an evial, biased and racist America. The idea is to highlight Christian intolerance and supress the reporting of Muslim intolerance. Her parents claimed that she brought dishonor on the family--not for lieing to the police, but for daring to date a Catholic boy. You will not here much about this in the mainline media because the only bias and intolerance that comes out of it is -- Islamic intolerance.

Preston Sharp (2015)

Preston, a 10-yer old Clifornia boy, was disturbed when he saw veteran's graves wthout graves and flowers on Memorial Day (2015). He was visiting his grandfather's grave at a Redding, California, cemetery to place a flag and flowers on the grave. His grandfather served in the U.S. Navy. While doing so, he was disturbed when he saw that other local veterans were not being honored on this special day with a flag or a flower. He continued to verbalize his irritation throughout the day, so his mother advised him that "You can't complain about something unless you try to do something about it." Preston's response was a look of conviction and the words "I'm going to do something about it Mom!" And he meant it. His attempts to raise funds began immediately when he asked how much money he could get if he vacuumed the floors. That night Preston set a goal to honor every veteran at the McDonald cemetery in Redding with the placement of a flag and a flower. Using social media, word of Preston's effort and goal spread and the Sunday visits to McDonalds cemetery began to draw other community members, some from more than 60 miles away. As Preston began to realize his goal of honoring all veterans at the McDonald cemetery he extended his goal to include veterans at other Redding cemeteries, then it was veterans in Shasta County, then the neighboring counties were brought in too. Preston then set a goal to honor veterans in every township along Interstate 5 between Redding and Sacramento, a 160 mile stretch of highway. Having met that goal Preston has set a new goal to honor veterans in all 50 states and to challenge others to get involved wherever they are through the Flag and Flower Challenge (#FandFChallenge). A challenge for those across the United States, and other countries where U.S. Service men and women are buried, to go out with a US Flag and a flower and THANK a veteran for their service. Preston was onof the individuals honored by President rump at the state of the Union speech (January 2018).

Makiyah Wilson (2018)

Makiyah Wilson was a beautiful little 10-year-old girl living in Northeast Washington, D.C. About 15 to 20 people were out enjoying the summer weather. Makiyahn like any other American kidcduring the summer was on her way to get ice cream from a nearby ice cream truck. Then suddenly a group of four masked African-American teens jumped out of a black, four-door Infiniti sedan and began shooing (July 16, 2018). The video shows a car pulling up and four men suddenly jumping out and opening fire before getting back in the vehicle and fleeing. Multiple people were hit, inluding Makiyah. Makiyah used her last breath to calm her mother down, who held her in her final moments. "Mommy, calm down," she at first told her mother. Her last words were "Mommy, it's burning." The victims were transported to local hospitals. Makiyah was declared dead after all life-saving efforts failed. Four other people, including the girl's 18-year-old sister were wounded. It is unclear who the intended victims were. What is notavkle when e see tragedies like this is how little attention the media and the Black Lives Matters movemehnt gives to it. Only when a white poice officer is involved does the media and BLM come to life. There were about 13,000 murder victims in America (2010). About half of those viuctims were African-Americans. [FBI] That is an extrodinarily figure give that the African-American population is only 13 percemt of the American population. It certainly means that a group like BLM is sorely needed. But notice that BLM just ignores the vast majority of those vicims. The only victims of any interest to BKM is the tiny percentage of blaclks kilked by the police, especislly white police officers. There were 258 African-Americans killed by police in 2015. That is a minicule 4 percent of black murders and almost all of the police shooting were totally legitimate law eforcemet actions.

Jaiden Rodriguez
Figure 2.--Here under the American flag, a Colorado school administrator exhibits a complete lack of knowledge about American history and aserts that the school can capriciously deny a brave little 7th grader his First Amendment rights--essentially a lesson in totalitarianism.

Jaiden Rodriguez (United States, 2023)

We are seeing things in America that we never thought that we would ever see. Now we have seen another. Growing up in the 1940s-50s, I attended schools where my teachers knew more than I did. We now see that some children know more than their teachers. One of those boys is brave little 12-year old Colorado 7th grader at the Vanguard School -- Jaiden Rodriguez. Jaiden was sent home because of a patch on his displaying several patches on his backpack, the famed Revolutionary War Gadsden flag. It is the yellow flag which features a coiled rattlesnake and the phrase 'Don't tread on me.' He was reported by his teacher and a school administrator insisted that the patch be removed. Jaiden was brave enough to stand up for his First Amendment rights. This was not something his parents put him up to. It is something Jaiden felt strongly about because he knew a little about the Revolutionary War, which is teachers apparently do not. His mother explained, "I do want him to stand up for his rights, too, and I don’t want to say, 'No, you bow down to the government'. It’s been a tough call to just let him do what he wants and say he’s at that age to make his own decisions." Smarts run in the family so when she went to the school to discuss the issue with school authorities, she videoed the conversation with the school representative. Mom complained that by making him miss three days of school over his patches, the charter school violated the Jaiden's First Amendment right. The Supreme Court has ruled on this, students do not lose their First Amendment rights at the schoolhouse door. This is important because some 85 percent of teachers are Democrats and many today see themselves as Social Justice Warriors with the right to impose their values and politics on their students. Now teachers znd school authorities have the right student speech to a degree, but it has to meet a struct test. It has to be a significant disruption to the educational mission of the school in order for the school to regulate the student’s speech. And Jaiden's little yellow patch comes no where close to that. Thanks to Mrs. Rodriguez's video, we know just what she was told. The school administrator insisted that Jaiden could not display the patch because of the flag’s 'origins with slavery and the slave trade.' The administrator was not talking about other patches--only the Gadsden Flag patch. Mrs. Rodriguez tried to explain that the Gadsden flag's origins date to the Revolutionary War and has no connection with slavery. Faced with actual history, the school administrator just said that she was enforcing school policy, not explaining why Jaiden and the Gadsden Flag was singled out. Many students had backpacks with patches, but only Jaiden was sent home. What actually is at play here is that many teachers today influenced by a historical concepts like left-wing Critical Race Theory and the 1619 Project believe that America is an evil country and has a history rooted in oppression and slavery. And without any real knowledge of history and the degree to which the Revoklutuin was a key turning point in human freedom, saw the Gadsden Flag as an example of this manufactured oppression. In the meeting, Jaiden was clearly amused by the school administrator clear lack of any real historical knowledge. The school also claimed the 7th-grader violated dress code policy with other patches, including some displaying firearms. It was the Gasden Flag, however, that the school administrator focused on in speaking with Mrs. Ridriguez. Armed with the video, the whole incident went viral. Even Colorado's Democratic Governor Jared Polis sided with Jaiden. The video went viral resulting in a national outrage expressed by millions.

Chiefs Fan (United States, 2024)

Americans love their sports. But the race baiters in America lose no opportunity to drum up racial hatred, even if the victim is only 9 years old and completely innocent. Incidents like this are so common they really highlight that actual iracist incidents are so rare that they have to be manufactured to feed the voracious appetite of the race baiting industry. This young fan came out to cheer on his beloved Chiefs. As as is not uncommon among die hard fans, he has his face painted in the team colors--red and black. So race baiting sports news site 'Deadspin' accused the boy of evil white racism and attempted to ruin his life, charming him with heinous crime of black face. And Deadspin did not do this innocently. They published a shot selectively showing a side image in an effort to make the charge. The front image of the innocent boy involves makes it is clear that he is wearing the teams black and red face paint, not blackface at all. Deadspin's top race baiter, Carron J. Phillips, charged, "On Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas, a Kansas City Chiefs fan found a way to hate Black people and the Native Americans at the same time. The image of a Chiefs fan in Black face wearing a Native headdress during a road game leads to so many unanswered questions." Phillips went on to say. the face paint proved the fan (the 9-year old boy only interested in football, "hates black people and Native Americans." He then turned his racial animus at the NFL and insisted that they need to be 'more aggressive' in changing team names and outlawing chants. He insisted that "If the NFL had outlawed the' chop' at Chiefs games and been more aggressive in changing the team’s name, then we wouldn't be here." Ironically, the boy was actually a Native American expressing his love of not only the Chiefs, but of his Native American heritage. Beyond the blackface issue, Phillips is also telling Native Americans that they should not take pride in their ancestry. He is arguing against the way that Native Americans want to express that pride such as support's team name and Native American regalia. He thinks he knows so much more than Native American how they should express their pride . His comments in fact are the very definition of racism--in this case evil Black racism. The parents are now suing Phillips and Deadspin, alleging that they 'maliciously and wantonly' attacked their son as part of a 'race-drenched political agenda' to 'generate clicks'. There is no doubt about Phillips animus, because the family sent him a copy of the frontal image to which he replied in a now-deleted tweet, saying he could explain how 'red and black face paint is just as offensive as blackface', adding that the family also hates Mexicans. But this is America. Phillips will have his day in court. It may prove to be a very expensive day.
