We also had flannel pajamas. Here we have an image of bedtime 1960s style! We wore shirts under our pajamas as it was a little chilly in the Winter. Note we all got different ptterns, but the same styles. Nowadays pyjamas are more like tracksuits, although as boys get older most don't wear pyjamas any more and just sleep in their underwear. It must have been winter for us to be wearing shirts under
them. There was no central heating, no double glazing. We woke up in the mornings to Jack Frost on the windows (that's ice on the inside of the windows!)
We had paraffin heaters in the bedroom (I think you call that kerosene in
the States) which produced a very pretty pattern on the ceiling!
