Clt 31: Clothing and Textiles

Purpose: In this module students will construct a simple garment/s and article/s and show basic understanding of equipment and patterns.

Learning Outcomes: By the end of this module students should be able to:

• Make a potholder using reverse applique technique
• Make a rugby shirt using a knit fabric.
• Make a choice garment or article.
• Interpret and follow simple pattern instructions.
• Use sewing equipment efficiently and safely.
• Identify parts of fabric.
• Describe advantages of knit fabrics

Hom 31: Home Economics

Purpose: In this module students will use safe practices to prepare dishes for family meals and snacks based on food and nutrition guidelines.

Learning Outcomes: By the end of this module students should be able to:

• Demonstrate a range of techniques and processes in practical work.

• Understand and use safe and hygienic practices in food preparation.
• Interpret information.
• Recognize and apply food and nutritional guidelines in food choices.
