There are teenagers who will do better in a single gender setting than coeducational setting. The single gender schools remove some of the distractions of coeducational schools. The availability of both types of schools in New Zealand enble parents to assess the proper education environment for their child.

The School is the only state, single-sex, boys school in West Auckland and
is just over 40 years old with a roll currently of approximately 1200
students. It has built a proud tradition over the years offering an all round

curriculum, which caters for the special characteristics of the School's
community. Broad ranges of assessment methods are used and our
students are tested against the best in the country by their entry in
national examinations. Classes are streamed according to ability, the
most able accelerated and special courses are offered to those with
special need
