New Zealand School Uniforms: Rules

Virtually every school has detailed regulations concerning the school uniform and how it was worn. Schools can have very precise requirements. Schools may issues a uniform list which covers both general day-today wear (ncluding footwear) to more specialized sports wear and equipment. At most schools these regulations are strictly enforced, but this does vary somewhat from school to school. Here we will show the school uniform regulations at some some representative schools. The rules here are the actual instructions the schools give to the students.

Coed State Secondary School

The School requires the correct uniform to be worn when students are at School, travelling to or from School and while attending School functions away from School. All items of uniform will be available from the School Uniform Shop which is located on site near the pool car park. During the year the shop will be open during term time each week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3pm to 4pm. Only items listed are to be worn. All other items are prohibited. Regulation Uniform Items:
Shirt: Grey School polo shirt
Shorts Navy serge shorts as supplied by uniform shop. School issue only.
Jersey Navy, with sky blue lion emblem.
Jacket: Navy and gold School jacket is the only jacket to be worn with School uniform.
Shoes: Black leather lace-up shoes (not sports shoes). Shoes-only may be worn with long trousers.
Socks: Black knee-length socks - worn up.
Sandals May be worn in Terms 1 and 4 only - they must be black or brown leather roman sandals with a back strap. No socks are to be worn with sandals. Trousers: Navy - as supplied by uniform shop. School issue only
School Cap: Navy with School emblem - as supplied by uniform shop may be worn.
Scarf School scarf as supplied by uniform shop.
Jewellery: The only jewellery allowed is a watch, no other jewellery is to be worn. The School will not take responsibility for lost jewellery.

Year 13 students may wear the white Mount Albert Grammar School polo shirt. All other regulations listed above apply.
NB. T-shirts are not to be under the polo shirt It is expected that all items of clothing be clearly named, preferably with the student name and form class.
