Hamas Fanfur Mouse
Figure 1.-- The Hamas TV character Fanfur Mouse teaches Palestinian children that the sollution to the Isreli-Palestinian conflict is violence and glorifies the AK-47 assault rifle.

We have only limited information about Palestinian television and childrens programing. We have found some information about a Palestinian children's program Fanfur Mouse. Here the children are told that occupation has to be resisted, And by occupation they are referring to all of Palestine, not just the area assigned to Palestinian Arabs by the United Nations.

Tomorrows Pioneers

We have only limited information about Palestinian television and childrens programing. We have found some information about a Palestinian children's program. Hamas produces a program, "Tomorrow’s Pioneers". The producer of the program explains that his mission is not only to teach the children about liberating Palesine (meaninging Israel as well as the West Bank), but to dominate the world. He explains that both Jews and Christins are better off under Islamic rule. Remember this is not Isrealis and Americans saying this, this is what the Hamas official producing the program says. A character on the program is Fanfur Mouse, a Disney knockoff character. Fanfur tells the children are told that occupation has to be resisted, And by occupation they are referring to all of Palestine, not just the area assigned to Palestinian Arabs by the United Nations.

Characters

Fanfur is a clone of Walt Disney's beloved Mickey Mouse. He appears with the Deputy Director of Al-Aqsa TV, Hazim Al-Sha’arawi, and a little girl named Saraa.

Fanfur's Message

Here the children are told that occupation has to be resisted, And by occupation they are referring to all of Palestine, not just the area assigned to Palestinian Arabs by the United Nations. Fanfur also teaches the children to hate Jews and Anericams.

Transcripts

Actual transcripts from the program are instructive.

New homework excuse

Children since time immemorial have shown considerable imagination in explaining to teachers why they could not complete their hime work. Now Hamas and Fanfur have pitched in. Theur advise, of course, blame it on the Jews. And also explain that Islam will one day conquer Spain and Portugal.
Hazem: "Why did you cheat?"
Farfur: "It was against my will, uncle Hazem, because the Jews destroyed our home, and when the Jews destroyed our home I couldn’t find my notebooks."
Hazem: "By Allah's will, we will promote through Islam good, love and justice. Ask history, and ask the Jews, did they ever live in a time period better than the one they live under Islam. And ask the Christians how their security was assured in the churches and monasteries...Once we were! Do you remember Andalus [Spain and Portugal]? This dear Andalus will return one day.
Saraa': We remind you dear kids, that the glory and the civilization of the [Islamic] nation, you shall restore! [Hamas--TP, May 11, 2007 episode.]

World domination

Of course Fanfur is interested in liberating all of Palestine, but Fanfur and Hamas want much more.
Fanfur: "You must be careful regarding your prayer and to go to the mosque for all five [daily] prayers. I say, in the mosque and in the first rows, until we can lead the world." "We are setting with you the cornerstone for world leadership under Islamic leadership." "You must resist the oppressive invading Zionist occupation." "We will win, Bush! We will win, Condoleezza! We will win, Sharon!... Ah, Sharon is dead!"
Saraa': Of course, Farfur can't be expected to do it all by himself. He has a sidekick, Saraa', a soft-spoken young girl, who also has some soothing words for the children: "I remind you that Al-Aqsa and the prisoners are a responsibility on our shoulders, and Allah will ask us on Resurrection Day what we gave for their sake."
Farfur: "We are setting with you the cornerstone for world leadership under Islamic leadership. Isn’t it so, Saraa’?"
Saraa’: "Yes, our beloved children."
Farfur "You must be careful regarding your prayer and to go to the mosque for all five [daily] prayers. I say, in the mosque and in the first rows, until we can lead the world."
Saraa’: "We remind you that we, the great ones, started this program to lead this world. The nucleus, with the will of Allah, will be from here, from Palestine. We will carry the concern of this [Islamic] nation that awaits us."
Farfur: "From Palestine, oh Saraa’, what do you mean? From Gaza, Jerusalem, Ramallah, or from all of Palestine?"
Saraa’: "Yes, from all of Palestine."
Farfur: "If so, my beloved young ones, with the will of Allah, we will lead the nation from here, from Palestine."
Saraa’: "Our beloved children, many say that we had glory [in the past], and we had culture, and the Muslims had greatness and respect. But with the will of Allah, we, tomorrow’s pioneers, will restore the glory of this nation."
Farfur: "Yes, we, tomorrow’s pioneers, will restore to this nation its glory, and we will liberate Al-Aqsa, with Allah’s will, and we will liberate Iraq, with Allah’s will, and we will liberate the Muslim countries, invaded by murderers."
Saraa’: "Yes, they are children occupied by the Jews, but with the will of Allah, we will resist and protect against the Zionist occupation."
Farfur: "Until we win, with the will of Allah, we will resist until we win."
Saraa': "I remind you that we are the ones who will carry the concerns of this [Islamic] nation, and we will lead this world, and I remind you that Al-Aqsa and the prisoners are a responsibility on our shoulders, and Allah will ask us on Resurrection Day what we gave for their sake."
