Unknown French Catalog: Games and Toys--Irish Mail (1936)

Figure 1.--A French catalog in 1936 Offered this Irish mail which was called a "rapid ram".

The Irish mail was called a "rapid ram" in France. It was a vehicle for younger boys not yet ready for bicycles. The ad copy read, "Le rapid ram, tout métal, propulsion sur levier central, roues caout-choutées. de 3 å 6 ans. 69 Fr. Gres caoutchouca 79Fr." We note these Irish mails in America during the erly 20th century in America. We have not noted them in the 1930s. I'm not sure how popular these Irish mails were. I haven't noted photographs of boys plying with them.
