Swedish Children's Literature: Types

Figure 1.--Emil, the protagonist of Astrid Lindgren novels, is always barefoot. He is a kind of Swedish Tom Sawyer.

We have very limited information on the different types of Swedish children's literasture. There are of course fiction and non-fiction books. We have found sdome fiction books, but know nothing about non-fiction at this time. We have noticed some charming individual titles. Some of the best known are the Pipi Longstockings books by Astrid Lindgrin. She also wrote books about a boy named Emil. There were also storybooks. We do not know of any children's magazines are periodicals, but our information is very limited. Hopefully our Swedish readers will provide us more information about children's literature.
