Dutch Royalty: Prince Johan Friso Monarchy (1968- )

Figure 1.--Prince Johan Friso married Mabel Wisse Smit in Delft on April 24, 2004 (figure 1). I am not sure who the children in the wedding portrait were.

Prince Johan Friso's mother is Queen Beatrix (1938- ) born Princess of Oranje Nassau, Princess of Lippe-Biesterfeld. The Prince's father is Prince Claus, Jonkheer von Amsberg (1926- ) in 1966. The prince had two brothers. Prince Willem Alexander (1967- ) is his older brother and crown prince. Their younger brother is Prince Constantijn (1969- ). We have little information on Prince Johan Friso. He was born in 1968. We do know that he married Mabel Wisse Smit in Delft on April 24, 2004 (figure 1). I am not sure who the children in the wedding portrait were. Princess Mabel was a commoner. Her marriage was controversial indeed, mainly because of a past relationship with Mr. Klaas Bruinsma, a Dutch drug smuggler who has been murdered in 1991. She maintains until today that at the time she did not know that Bruinsma was a criminal and that their relation was not of a sexual nature. King Harald V of Norway is Prince Friso's godfather.
