Unidentified French School (1950s)

Figure 1.--We believe this is a French school, although we are not sure. All we have is a photograph probably taken in the 1960s. There is a basic uniform so it may be a Catholic school. The uniform appears to be blue-green shirts, black or dark blue short pants, and white knee socks. Unfortunately we have no information about the school.

We believe this is a French school, although we were not sure. All we have is a photograph probably taken in the 1950s. The photograph here was apparently taken in 1956 (figure 1). There is a basic uniform so it may be a Catholic school. The uniform appears to be blue-green shirts, black or dark blue short pants, and white kneesocks. A HBC reader tells us that the boys attended the Nogent sur Marne Catholic school in a Paris suburb. The uniform they are wearing, however, is a choir uniform. The boys were members of a Choir conducted by l'abbé Tessier. They seem to be on some sort of outing here. This Choir is member of the International Pueri Cantores and it is now conducted now by Dennis Dupays. This Choir is continues to be an all boy choir which is composed of trebble, alto and several tenor singers. The Choir still exists and still has the same uniform. The only difference is that today the short pants are longer following the modern fashion.
