Italian School Uniform: Ozzano Monferrato (1913)


Figure 1.- Here we see the Ozzano Monferrato, near Turin, in 1913. It looks like a primary school. There is no uniform. The girls wear dresses, mostly with long stockings. Neither the boys or girls are wearing smocks. The boys mostly wear suits. They are mostly the old fshioned suits that button at the collar, but we see some that have lapels as well.

Here we see the Ozzano Monferrato, near Turin, in 1913. It looks like a primary school. The school seems to have had a substantial building. The children here look like one class at the school. There is no uniform. The girls wear dresses, mostly with long stockings. Plaid dresses for some reason seem to have been very popular. Two girls wear white long stockings with strap shoes. Neither the boys or girls are wearing smocks. The boys mostly wear suits. They are mostly the old fshioned suits that button at the collar, but we see some that have lapels as well. One boy wears a sailor suit. They look to be mostly kneepants suits worn wuth dark long stockings. We notice in the background, however, at least one boy wearing short pants and kneesocks.
