Figure 1.--> We notice the children at Seiko ElementarySchool wearing light-blue smocks at school. We are not sure how common that was or just when they were worn. We notice the students wearing them both in and outside of the classroom. Here vthe children are doing science work, but we see smocks worn in regular classrooms as well. But we are not sure how commonly.

We notice the children at Seiko ElementarySchool wearing light-blue smocks at school. We are not sure how common that was or just when they were worn. We notice the students wearing them both in and outside of the classroom. And it was not just for science lab work. We see them being worn in regular classrooms as well. But we are not sure how commonly. And we see them being worn in what looks like a playground setting. These smocks seem to be coming popular in Japan. They are not worn to school, but put on once the children arrived at school. Earlier we see younger children wearung smocks, but in the 2010s we begin to see older primary children wearing them as well. The younger children might wear back-buttoning smocks. The older children seen to be wearing more of a short lab coat style front buttoning smocks.
