Chillingham Public School (Australia, 1930s)

Figure 1.-- Here we see the Chillingham Public School in 1935. It is a state primary school in 1935. There was no uniform, but the children dressed up fotr the photograsph.

We are not sure when the school was foiunded. The first images of the school; we have date from the 1930s. The boys all seemed to be dressed up with white shirts. Many boys wear ties, bith neckties and bowties. We suspect that the children were instructed to dress up for a school portrait. We do not know for sure, byt suspect thsat the boys did not normally dress so well. The boys wear short pants. Some wear kneesocks. Many boys are barefoot. Note that even thiugh the children dressed up for the portrait, several still came barefoot.
