Chillingham Public School (Australia, 1950s)


Figure 1.-- Here we see the Chillingham Public School in 1958 on a bright sunny day. There was still no uniform. We have no idea why the backdrop was constructed. Click on the image to see the rest of the school.

Here we see the school in 1958. The children are dressed very cassually. The boys are wearing "T"-shirts ans shorts. All of the children look to be barefoot. The backdrop used in 1948 is gone and we can see some of the town. The "T"-dhirts look rather like shirts Americasn boys might have worn, although American boys would have worn jeans in the 1950s. The girls seem to mostly be wearing dresses.
