This unidentified English family was from Deal, Kent. All the children wear identical traditional middy blouses. All are styled precisely like the uniform worn by Royal Navy enlisted men. Each of the three children even have identical lanyards, presumably with tin whistles all neatly put away in their breast pocket. The middy blouses are all the same. The boyswear kneepants and their sister a skirt. The boys wear idenrical kneepants, but their hosiery for some reason differs. One wears knee socks and the other long stockings. The girl wears kneesocks. It is unclear to HBC why the children would have been dressed so identically, but their hosiery differ. The image is undated, but we would estimate dates to the 1890s. Notice the boys' short hair and center parts and the girl's long hair and bangs.
