Japan has a very large and active movie industry. Unfortunately we have very limited information about Japanese actors or the films themselves. We have several clips from Japanese films, but have been unable to identify the specific films involved. Hopefully our Japanese readers will help us here. Many of these films until relatively recently were rather low budget productions , usually set in modern times and thus relatively accurate reflections of contemprary fashions.
Here we see a Japanese science-fiction film. I don't think this one involved monsters, but am not sure. It looks to us like it might be a 1970s film, but again we are not positive. There were, however alienes and an alien spece ship. The main characters appear to be a Japanese schoolboy and his friends a Japanese girl and an American boy. I do not know the plot and am not sure how an American boy got involved in the film. The Japanese boy wears short pants and kneesocks, but not a school uniform. The Amerixan boy wears a baseball-style cap and jeans. This is the usual approach when American boys appear in Japanese films. Hopefully our Japanese readers will be able to tell us more about this film and identify it.
We no nothing about this film, but we have a poster that presumably gives the title. Hopefully our Japanese readers will tell us what the poster says. There look to be seven children involved in the film wearing contemporary clothes. It looks like it may have been made in the 1970s.
We know nothing about this film, except that two school boys are involved in it. They are primary school boys at a school that does not require uniforms. Note the book satchels (figure 1). Note the the boy here wears short pants to school despite the fact that it is a cool day and he wears a jacket.
Here is another Japanese film we know nothing about. In fact, we are not even positive it is a movie. It rather looks like one because of the girl's costume. The boy is dressed in motre standard school wear. Hopefully our Japanese rfeaders will be able to identify it.
