Figure 1.--While in Hamburg the boys had some time before beginning their excursion. The caption read, "Rechts im Hintergrund der größte Kran der Welt". This meant, "At the right in the background the world's biggest crane."

While in Hamburg the boys had some time before beginning their excursion to the Baltic . Thee boys took a port tour--Hafenrundfahrt. Note that they brought along their HJ banner. It looks to be exiting tour in a small boat. There are ships of all descriptions moving about, including a nearby tug boat. The huge cranes for unloading cargo can be seen in the background. The boys saw many other ships, incldng the KDF cruise ship Monte Olivia. It looks to have been quite an experience for boys who had never neen to the coast before.

They are needed to unload heavy cargo which can include items as heavy as a steam locomotive. The tour took them closer to one crane which was apprently the largdst in the workd.
