United States Boy Scouts Uniforms--Socks (1990s)

Figure 1.--This Scout probably in the late 1990s is wearing the new short-length uniform ankle socks in the same color as the old kneesocks.

Scouts continued the same uniform style introduced in the 1980s. There were some minor changes. The traditional Scout kneesocks became increasingly unpopular in the 1990s. Boys no longer wore kneesovks--not even atletic tube socks and to many biys kneesocks did not make sence for summer wear with shorts. The longer, baggy shorts and socks down at the ankles seem to have completely taken over by the mid-1990s. The BSA has changed the socks to an ankle style in the same colors. I do not think that Scout kneesocks are also made, but am unsure about this.
